Firstly, the solution's Traffic Enforcement feature encompasses a range of intelligent detection systems capable of accurately capturing various traffic violations. Here are some of the traffic violations detectable by this solution:
At intersections and crossroads
The solution can detect pedestrian crossings, illegal lane changes, failure to comply with road signs, and parking in bike lanes. Additionally, it can detect two of the most common traffic violations: overspeeding and running red lights.
Overspeeding remains the primary cause of traffic accidents, contributing to approximately 30% of fatalities in high-income countries and up to 50% in middle-income countries.
Equipped with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, Dahua's cameras capture the license plate numbers and timestamps of vehicles within the detection zone. These details are then transmitted to the DMSS platform for evaluating each vehicle's average speed as it passes through. With a recommended detection zone distance of 2-5 kilometers, the solution achieves an accuracy rate of 99.8%. Furthermore, Dahua provides portable and fixed installation options for convenient deployment, allowing traffic personnel to adapt to different road points as needed.
Moreover, red light enforcement is a critical aspect of traffic management, with statistics indicating that approximately 21.5% of traffic accidents are caused by drivers running red lights.
Currently, most red light enforcement solutions rely on underground sensors, which pose various inconveniences such as the need for ground excavation to bury the sensor. In contrast, Dahua's Smart Traffic Management Solution utilizes video as its core. The solution synchronizes the status of red light signals with camera trigger signals. When a violation occurs, Dahua cameras like the ITC952-AU3F-LZF1640 model capture three images for evidential purposes: the vehicle's license plate, the status of the traffic light, and an overview of the scene. The DSS management and storage platform collects this data from each camera for further processing, while edge storage devices ensure data preservation even during power outages.
For highways, flyovers, or ramps
In these critical areas, adherence to appropriate speed and driving behavior is crucial. Dahua's Smart Traffic Management Solution offers a suite of intelligent tools to enforce traffic regulations comprehensively. In addition to detecting overspeeding and running red lights, the solution can also identify phone usage while driving, failure to fasten seatbelts, disregard for traffic signs, occupancy of emergency lanes, illegal lane changes, and driving against traffic flow.
The solution supports simultaneous tracking of up to six vehicles, with detection ranges of 3 meters to 100 meters and monitoring coverage of up to four lanes. For scenarios requiring long-distance detection, a 28MP dual-lens traffic camera with a monitoring distance of up to 80 meters is available.
In urban areas
Dahua's Smart Traffic Management Solution also provides Large Truck Detection to identify trucks prohibited from entering monitored areas based on weight, size, and specific time periods. Additionally, it offers Helmet Detection to ensure motorcycle riders wear safety helmets.

Global Application Case Studies
In a Mongolian city facing increasing vehicular traffic challenges, Dahua's Smart Traffic Management Solution was deployed to address issues such as the lack of license plate recognition systems, quality technical support, and cost-effective traffic solutions. The implementation included violation detection, ANPR systems, speed measurement systems, and a command and control solution for the traffic center. Overall, Dahua installed ANPR systems on 28 roads, violation detection systems at 8 junctions, as well as 2 mobile speed measurement systems and 15 high-spot PTZ surveillance cameras.
Additionally, in Indonesia, where motorcycle-related fatalities are prevalent, Dahua's solution accurately detects helmet usage and multiple passengers on motorcycles, contributing to accident prevention and road safety.
